Dear Parents / Carers,

Today it is recognised that to be truly well educated, one must not only learn to appreciate the arts but also have rich opportunities to actively participate in creative work. The arts are languages that most people speak, cutting through individual differences in culture, educational background and ability.

We witnessed another Rowville success last week on Tuesday and Wednesday nights with our musical production of Charlie and The Cholate Factory JR, performed at the Drum Theatre. The production was a sellout, and additional seats were released in the gallery on the second night to accommodate further requests for tickets. I would like to thank our Rowville friends and families for their wonderful support of our actors.

The success of our production was due to the dedication displayed by the many selfless individuals who created the environment in which our students could perform to an appreciative audience. The spirit of teamwork was a strong feature of the project. Live performances demand working together as a team and striving towards a collective goal.

I felt incredibly proud as I watched our students perform in this most positive of experiences. It is value-added education at its best.

To our Director, Ms Hayley Winch, and the countless others who contributed to the two nights, it’s time to take a bow!
