Firefighters visit the Preps!

Today our Prep students had another exciting and unforgettable visit from our local firefighters, this time arrving in thier big red firetruck. The visit was not without some drama, with them being called away twice to emergencies!

On their return, the firefighters spoke to the Preps about their important job, keeping our community safe, fighting fires, and helping people in emergencies. Students learned about the special clothing and equipment firefighters use to protect themselves, as well as the different tools stored in the firetruck.

The highlight of the visit was getting to explore the firetruck up close. Every student had the chance to climb inside the driver’s seat and imagine what it would be like racing off to an emergency (which they saw up close today!). The firefighters also set up the hose and showed the students how powerful it was letting them have a turn spraying water across the oval.

It was a wonderful learning experience that sparked curiosity and inspired plenty of questions. We are so grateful to the firefighters for taking the time to share their knowledge, and for showing our Preps what it means to serve and protect the community.
