Senior School

Term 3 Highlights

The Senior School is in full swing this term, with students and staff embracing a wide range of programs and initiatives that extend beyond the classroom. From productions and camps to academic enrichment and wellbeing activities, Term 3 continues to offer meaningful opportunities for growth and celebration for all our students.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

Term 3 has already been a success, and it continues to flourish thanks to the generous offering of time, talent, and passion from our students, staff, and families. Much of what makes our College community special is the quiet dedication of individuals who serve without expectation of recognition or reward.

Their efforts, both seen and unseen, reflect the heart of Christian service in action. In all that we do, we are reminded to persevere in goodness, trusting that God sees and honours our faithfulness.

Parent-Teacher Interviews – Friday 22 August

Our teachers are looking forward to connecting with students and their parents during our upcoming face to face and online Parent-Teacher Interviews, scheduled for Thursday 21 and Friday 22 August. Please note that Friday will be a Student Free Day, and interviews will be conducted online only via Booked (formerly PTO). Parents are reminded to reprint their meeting allocations for online interviews if they print out both nights for the Thursday sessions. A quirk of the system is that it will allocate rooms for the online interviews rather than provide a Teams link if they are printed early or at the same time as the face-to-face meetings. Please ensure you regenerate your booking slots to access the correct interview links, which will replace the room location. Only the parent who made the booking will be able to access the interview link.

Booked will open for bookings from 9.00am on Monday 4 August, and parents can modify bookings until 9.00am on Thursday 21 August.

We encourage all students to attend these interviews alongside their parents to discuss progress and areas for growth. For international families, we hope the online format provides a valuable opportunity to connect with teaching staff.

For further details, please refer to the attached instructions or contact the Administration Office on 9727 9900.

Year 9 City Cite – 1 to 12 September

Our Year 9 students will soon begin the City Cite program, running from 1 to 12 September. This immersive experience integrates with their academic studies and encourages independence, collaboration, and real-world learning.

A City Cite Parent Evening is scheduled for Wednesday 17 September. We look forward to seeing families there.

Year 11 Formal Dinner – Friday 12 September

The Year 11 Formal Dinner will be held on Friday 12 September. Students may leave school at 12.20pm (end of Period 3) to prepare for the evening. There will be no Year 11 classes during Periods 4, 5, and 6. However, students who are fast-tracking a Year 12 subject are expected to remain at school for their afternoon classes to ensure continuity in their Unit 4 studies.

Wellbeing Week – 15 to 19 September

Wellbeing Week will run from 15 to 19 September, featuring a range of activities designed to support student wellbeing and foster a positive school culture. Further details will be shared in upcoming editions of The Vine.

Celebrating Excellence – Mary Spratt

We are incredibly proud to congratulate Mary Spratt, who was awarded the Premier’s VCE Awards on Wednesday 2 July for achieving a perfect study score of 50 in Visual Communication and Design. Mary was also our co-Dux for 2024 and attained the highest ATAR in the College that year.

Mary exemplifies the very best of what it means to be an Oxley student—dedicated, creative, and committed to excellence. Her achievements inspire us all, and we celebrate her success with great joy and pride.
