Junior School Visual Arts

In Semester 1 of Visual Arts this year, Junior School students began with a beautiful collaborative artwork inspired by the College 2025 theme verse, John 15:5. Each student contributed a decorated self-portrait cutout that was attached to a branch on a tree display, symbolising our connection to each other and to Jesus.

Prep

Throughout Semester 1, students explored a wide range of materials, artists and creative techniques. Our Prep students developed their foundational art-making skills through colourful units, including Folk Art cactus drawings, Henri Rousseau inspired jungle prints, pizza collages, and bold Pop Art handprint paintings.

Years 1 & 2

In Years 1 and 2, students created bright and joyful Indigenous inspired landscapes, drawing birds native to our area and adding colour and pattern in the style of First Nations artist Bronwyn Bancroft. They also explored ancient Chinese Pottery whilst drawing Ming Dynasty-inspired motifs onto vases and then moved into the world of digital influence through 3D Pixel Art wooden block construction.
