Isabel Watkins

Secondary School Teacher – English & Humanities

I’m delighted to have joined the Oxley teaching team this semester as an English and Humanities teacher for Years 8–10. I hold a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Primary and Secondary Teaching, and I’m enjoying the opportunity to work with students during such an important stage of their learning journey.

Outside the classroom, I have a strong appreciation for the arts and spend much of my spare time reading a wide range of literature, writing creative stories, and looking at different art.

I also love exploring new restaurants and cuisines with my husband—we’re always on the lookout for hidden gems around Melbourne!

Junior School Teacher

I feel very privileged, excited and blessed to be able to join the Junior School Staff at Oxley Christian College!

Teaching has always been my passion. Across my career I have taught in many different year levels and most recently worked as a Learning Support Teacher. I love watching students gain understanding of new concepts and seeing the “light bulb moment” when learning clicks into place. Being able to guide students into a closer relationship with God is an extra special honour. 

Outside of school I love reading and playing games with my family. My happy place is the beach, especially on a sunny winter’s day. I also own a kayak and enjoy paddling around Lilydale Lake.
