Resource Centre

Resource Centre Revamp!

It has been a busy start to the term in the Resource Centre. During the holidays, some major rearranging and moving of shelves took place, along with the installation of a new catalogue. Both the Maintenance and ICT departments have been very helpful and patient. As a result, the middle of the centre has now opened up, creating both more space and allowing more light in. We now have lovely sunny reading nooks and room to set up chess games and a collaborative jigsaw puzzle. The non-fiction collection has been separated into junior and senior sections and students are able to find some amazing books. Our catalogue is now on stands and is also available to all students on SEQTA Learn.

Speaking of books, our junior biography section has grown and is flying off the shelf. Popular titles have included graphic novels of Corrie Ten Boom and Eric Liddle, while World Cup soccer players are also favourites.

In the senior fiction section, both the Enola Holmes series and the Percy Jackson series are favourites while a new series of books for teenagers on life questions by Chris Morphew has created interest.

The Junior students are looking forward to Book Week from Monday 25 to 29 of August. Year 3-6 students will be watching a performance entitled Treasure Hunt on the Wednesday, and all are welcome to our Book Week dress-up parade and Chapel on Thursday 28 August, in the morning. Our spiders, made by the youngest students are linked to Spiro, one of the CBCA books.

Books are such an important part of our lives and can open the doors to so many adventures. Come and book an adventure with us!
