Active School Grant Update

Last year, our school was fortunate to receive an Active Schools Grant from Active Schools Victoria. The funding was used to transform the Year 9 Active Space — an area that had been in urgent need of an upgrade since the launch of the Year 9 Connect program.

Thanks to the installation of new all-purpose synthetic turf, the space is now more inviting and functional, allowing Year 9 students to enjoy physical activity in almost any weather.

A huge thank you goes to our Year 9 student leaders and captains for their efforts in surveying the cohort and gathering valuable feedback that helped shape this project.

Year 11 Sport and Recreation Class AFL Grid Game Summary

As part of the year 11 umpiring unit in Sport & Rec, the students were able to select an option in umpiring the Auskick players at half time in the AFL.8 students volunteered their time and had a great experience umpiring at Marvel Stadium during the Melbourne vs West Coast game on Saturday, 2 August.

Not only did the students do an excellent job umpiring, but the AFL also praised them for their attitude, effort and connection with the young Auskickers. They organised a warm-up before the game, answered questions and had a great experience.

Thanks to the following students for their effort on the day, and to the parents for supporting the students in what was a memorable experience. They were a credit to their school and community.

Rylan Reeves, Brock Marsh, Tanner Spalding, Dylan Humble, Josh Hewitson, Lucas Thompson, Riley Garnham and Tim Tutlam, who was our motivator and official photographer.
