Achieving Excellence Together
Dear Families,
As Term 3 zooms before our eyes, it was fantastic to see the amazing Albanvale Community come together not once, but twice, last week for LITFEST25.
As we celebrated our third annual LITFEST, it was encouraging to see the celebration grow.
As usual, on Monday, we started off with our book character dress up day. Not only did we see an increase in the number of characters parading through our school. It was also fantastic to see so many parents brave the cooler weather to enjoy the celebrations.
After a week of special activities celebrating our love of reading, we rounded out the week with the Reading Cafe, Writer's Gallery and Annual Spelling Bee, the latter two held in our brand new gym! Once again, it really is rewarding to see the special people in our students' lives come together for a morning of reading. The work our students produced for the Writer's Gallery was of an exceptional standard, and I know our students take great pride in showing what they are capable of producing. A special congratulations goes to our Spelling Bee Champions, Nego (Prep - 2) and Janet (3-6), who won it for a second year running!
Parent/Caregiver Opinion Survey
Thank you to all the families who have taken the time to fill out the annual Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey. This survey is offered by the Department of Education and is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of how families feel about the our school. Your opinions are important to us and contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needed at the school. We encourage all families to take this opportunity to take the survey. If you haven't received an email link, please get in touch with the office and they will be able to provide you with the link.
Staff Cover
Three of our staff members will be taking leave for the remainder of this term, escaping in search of the warm European sun. Mrs Akbay has been replaced by Ms Hu and Mrs Lipoma will be replaced by Ms Maxwell when she takes off next week. Ms Toscas will also be heading away from next week with Ms Luu picking her Speech Therapy Caseload. We wish all our travelling staff a wonderful holiday and look forward to seeing them when they return for Term 4.
LPN - Helping Students Succeed Through Tutoring
It is with great excitement that I share with you a brand new opportunity. Starting in Term 4, LPN Tutoring services will commence small group tutoring lessons in English and Mathematics for students in grades 2 and up. All lessons will be held after school hours in the Enrichment learning building and are designed for students wanting additional practice and support, as well as those looking to extend even further. The owners of LPN are Albanvale PS Alumni who are looking to give back to the community that played a big role in shaping their success, so they are offering a special discounted rate for any student enrolled at our school. Families interested in enrolling their child are encouraged to contact Linh on 0411 711 824 today as places limited.
Enrolments 2026 (All year levels)
With Prep enrolments for 2026 closing, we are now accepting pre-enrolments of students across all other year levels in 2026. Very limited places are available in most year levels, so families are encouraged to submit a pre-enrolment as soon as possible to secure their place. If you know a family who you think would contribute to our community of excellence, encourage them to reach out today to find out more information or arrange a school tour.
Students enrolled for Prep next year are also expected to partake in one Head Start lesson each week to support their early literacy and numeracy development, in addition to their readiness for school.
Thank you for helping us Achieve Excellence, Together.
Mr. Uzunovski
