Music Matters

It has been a busy week for our musicians as they supported some special events:

Assumption Mass: We sincerely thank Mr Saar and our Junior and Senior Chorale students for their beautiful contribution to the Assumption Mass at Our Lady of Dolours last Friday. Our choirs came together for a combined rehearsal on Thursday morning to prepare. Their dedication, preparation, and heartfelt singing made the Feast Day celebration truly memorable.

Celebration of Learning: Congratulations to our Intermediate Concert Band on their outstanding performance at the Celebration of Learning for Years 7–10 at The Concourse on Monday, August 18. This occasion not only showcased their musical talent but also served as a valuable rehearsal opportunity ahead of their upcoming State Championships this Sunday. We sincerely thank our ICB members and their conductor, Ms Laura Power, for the vital role they fulfilled during the event, playing the National Anthem and School Song.

Please note the following information from Ms Power, regarding the State Championships this week:

Friday 22 August

  • Final run through - 3:05 pm - 4:00 pm, Band Room.

Celebration of Learning

Congratulations to all students who received awards yesterday, as well as those who showcased their talents. It was inspiring to witness the breadth and depth of talent that extends beyond academic achievements. A special thank you to the Year 9 Drama elective students for their outstanding performances and entertaining us with their comedic skills.

Year 8 Drama Performance

Year 8 had the opportunity to watch Fools in Progress theatre company perform their comedic Commedia play this week. Thank you to the PAPA parents who supported and paid for this event. Their ongoing support is greatly appreciated. Fools in Progress are a Sydney based professional theatre company who trained in Italy at the International School of Comic Acting founded and directed by Antonio Fava. They collaborate to create plays loyal to the origins of modern comedy which is traced back to Commedia dell’Arte. The students were highly engaged and entertained throughout.
