Grand Finals

Congratulations to our rugby and football teams who made it to the grand finals:

Football:  1st XI, 2nd XI, 16A, 15A, 15B and 13A.

Rugby:  16B and 15A

This is a huge achievement for these teams who have consistently proven their ability throughout the season.

We have been advised that the Rugby Grand Finals have been postponed.

The Football Grand Finals will be played on synthetic pitches at Macquarie University and St Patrick's College.

Clipboard will accurately reflect competition finals venues. All updates are under the control of the ISA, who are currently investigating opportunties around the Rugby Grand Finals.

All support for these important games is very welcome, however, students must be in full St Pius X sports uniform or winter uniform.

Commiserations to those teams whose season has now come to an end.  Well done for your efforts and participation throughout the season.

This season, I’d like to shine a light on the sportsmanship demonstrated by our teams over the past two terms. Whether in victory or defeat, our players have consistently shown humility, respect, and grace. This is a true reflection of the values instilled by our dedicated coaches, whose guidance and leadership have been instrumental in shaping this culture.

Good luck to our teams playing on Saturday.

Congratulations to Alex Kim on his sporting achievement

Congratulations to Alex Kim of Year 9 who achieved outstanding success at the Australian Open Taekwondo Championships held last weekend in the Gold Coast.

Alex competed in the under 78kg sparring division and won the gold medal, demonstrating skill, dedication and sportsmanship.

Well done Alex.  I'm sure we'll be hearing more about his achievements in the coming years!

Squash

What a thrilling round! The energy, determination, and sportsmanship on display were nothing short of inspiring. Here are some standout moments worth celebrating:

Special Mention: Liam Tumulty stepped up in a big way, playing 10 games solo in the absence of his partner. Scoring an incredible 117 points, he showed grit and consistency, narrowly missing a win but leaving no doubt about his competitive spirit. That’s the kind of effort that defines a true athlete - well done, Liam!

Special Mention: Gavin Bae delivered the game of his season, battling through a tough match to earn a hard-fought victory against a formidable opponent. His performance was a masterclass in focus and resilience - an absolute highlight of the round!

Teamwide Progress: Every player brought their A-game, and the results speak for themselves. The level of competition has risen, and the gains made this season are evident across the board. With just two rounds left before finals, the momentum is building - keep pushing, keep improving, and let’s finish strong!
