                                                      Bonjour Parents and Students!

Here’s a snapshot of what each year level has been working on in week 3 and 4:

Prep

We explored food names that are the same in English and French, such as hamburger, sandwich, and more. Students then practised using these words in sentences with J’aime (I like) and Je n’aime pas (I don’t like).

Grade 1

We completed an “All About Me” sheet entirely in French, covering name, age, birthday, and more. Students also extended their greeting knowledge by learning new phrases like “See you tomorrow” and “Have a good day.”

Grade 2

We learned French body parts and discovered that body parts, like all nouns in French, have a gender. Students then practised saying when a part of their body hurts.

Grade 3

We continued exploring animal words and adjectives. Students created a bilingual poster (French and English) about their favourite animal.

Grade 4

We tackled a very important concept—negation. Students learned how to turn an affirmative sentence into a negative one by adding ne and pas (“not”). We also explored common French letter combinations such as ai, ou, oi, and eau.

Grade 5/6

After mastering -er and -re verbs, students learned the final group—-ir verbs. By now, they are confident with conjugation patterns and steps. We also covered the five French accents and their functions.

Bastille Day Celebration:

Today, we celebrated Bastille Day. It was a fantastic event, and everyone had a wonderful time! A special thank you to all who took part and helped make the celebration such a success.
