Physical Education News

Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome back to another action packed PE Newsletter! We have started the term very strong with all of our students getting straight into their PE groove.
Shoutout to all of our students that participated at the District Athletics Carnival on Wednesday! They all trained hard and put 110% effort into all of their events and we are excited to share we won the shield. This is the third year in a row!!
Preps, Grade One and Grade Two
The Preps, Ones and Twos have been working hard practicing their new gymnastics skills. They have been practicing their balance and getting comfortable in positions that would be uncomfortable. We have been teaching the students how to forward roll and cartwheel so they might be practicing at home!
Grade 3 and Grade 4
Grade 3s and 4s have just finished their target games unit after 4 weeks of learning different games and experimenting with different techniques. The students have had to adjust their throws based off the weather conditions, ground conditions and adjust due to the distance of the target. Students will be starting their fitness unit, which will focus on building endurance and strength. We will be starting with the Cooper Run, which is a 12-minute movement exercise where students will run/walk around a 20x20m box.

The difference between a point and no point in Bocce can be very close. It takes great skill and precision to be able to land the ball on the hoop a feat that happens rarely!
