Principal's Message

Dear Families,

We are proud to share the outstanding results from this year’s NAPLAN assessments. The achievements of our students are a testament to the dedication, expertise, and collaboration across our entire school community.

Across nearly all areas, our students performed above comparison benchmarks—not just in relation to like schools and network schools, but also when compared with state-wide results. These outcomes reflect the strength of our explicit instructional practices, the professionalism and commitment of our exceptional teaching staff, and the consistent effort and focus of our hardworking students.

While we celebrate these successes, we also acknowledge that Year 3 Numeracy results, while above like schools and network schools, was slightly below the state average. We see this not as a setback, but as an opportunity for targeted improvement. This year we introduced the Explicit Maths Program in prep- grade 2. This program is aligned to Science of Learning research and will build further on our already solid foundation.

We are incredibly proud of what our school community has achieved. Thank you to our students for their effort, our teachers for their expertise and care, and our families for their ongoing support.

Together, we are achieving great things—and it feels like we’re only just getting started!

Celebrating Bastille Day at Tarneit Rise Primary School

Today, our school came alive with French culture, fashion and colour as we celebrated Bastille Day! From the moment the doors opened, our classrooms and corridors were filled with French greetings, songs, and activities, creating a joyful atmosphere that truly reflected our love of learning languages.

Since Tarneit Rise Primary School opened in 2018, we have proudly taught French as our second language. Over the years, we have watched our students grow in confidence, pronunciation, and understanding of French culture. Today’s celebrations were a wonderful reminder of just how far they have come. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and enthusiasm for learning.

Merci beaucoup to our dedicated teachers and all the students who participated with such energy and spirit. Whether it was sharing a “Bonjour!” in the yard, joining in French games, or enjoying special classroom activities, our community spirit was magnifique!

📚 Book Week Next Friday!

A quick reminder that next Friday we will be celebrating Book Week! This is always a highlight of the school year, and we can’t wait to see the creativity on display. Students are encouraged to come to school dressed as a book character—whether it’s a classic hero, a magical creature, or someone from a much-loved story.

Our Book Fair will also be operating all throughout the week and open for sales before and after school.

We look forward to another wonderful celebration of learning, reading, and imagination!

Have a great fortnight

Nadia
