Year 10 Deakin Uni Visit
On Monday 140 Year 10 students visited Deakin Uni’s Waurn Ponds campus to start exploring other tertiary settings in the local area. A combined presentation with The Gordon and Deakin showcased the different styles of learning, qualifications and outcomes that both these tertiary institutions offer. A tour of the campus was followed by workshops in psychology, nursing, cybersecurity, engineering and library services. Many of our students engaged with the lecturers to discuss their interests and aspirations.
This visit is the start of our Pathways program for Year 10s which links in with Connect activities to assist students with Subject Selection for 2026. Towards the end of term, there will be sessions to introduce VCE and VCE-Vocational Major as well as VET. A VCE Subject Selection Expo and Information Night will take place early next term, followed by the Subject Selection interviews. An email outlining these dates and events will be sent out soon.
