Service Award Recognition

Congratulations to Oberon High School German Language teacher Liz Ray who was awarded a 55 year service award by the Minister of Education Ben Carroll at a recent Department of Education function.  An amazing achievement by Liz and she still has so much energy and passion for educating our students.  Oberon High School is very lucky to have Liz as a member of staff.

State Budget

The Victorian State budget was handed down recently.  One thing for parents to note is that if they are entitled to receive funding via the Camps, Sports and Excursion payment (CSEF) this will increase to $400 for the 2026 school year.

Year 7 enrolments 2026

We have begun receiving grade 6 applications from primary schools and are verifying students are living at the address that we have been provided.  This is a necessary requirement as DET have directed me to only enrol students who reside in the school zone or have siblings at the school. This is due to the population growth that is occurring within our enrolment zone.

Student Attitudes to School Survey

The Attitudes to School survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experiences of school. Students will be asked about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, peer relationships, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general.  Students will have the opportunity to complete this survey by Friday 13th June.

Report Writing Day

The school has a scheduled student free day on Friday 6th June.  Students and parents will be provided with their end of semester reports on the last day of term via the Xuno platform.

Bus Services

We are aware that a number of buses bringing students to school are running late in the morning due to more traffic build up caused by ongoing roadworks. We continue to communicate with the bus providers to try to minimise the disruptions, however unfortunately this may be something that we are dealing with for an extended period of time given more road works are scheduled.
