It’s been a busy and exciting time in our class lately, with plenty of hands-on learning, new experiences, and lots of smiles along the way!
In Maths, the students have been working hard to consolidate their understanding of reading an analogue clock. They’ve become confident with telling the time to the hour and half past the hour and are now beginning to explore quarter past and quarter to the hour. It’s been fantastic to see them challenge themselves with these new time concepts — especially during our time-telling activities where they get to practise in fun and practical ways.
We’ve also been building our skills when it comes to using and counting money. Students have been recognising coins and notes, making money combinations. It’s been great to see how quickly they’re picking things up and applying their knowledge with growing confidence.
In English, we’ve been enjoying the classic novel Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. Some students are revisiting the story, while others are experiencing it for the first time — and everyone is loving it! There’s been lots of laughter, predictions and discussions as we follow the clever Mr Fox on his adventures. The students can’t wait to find out what will happen next!
And speaking of fun, the students had an absolute blast learning some rugby skills recently! With big smiles and lots of energy, they learnt how to pass the ball, move in space, and most importantly, work together as a team. The short games we played were a real highlight, with everyone giving it a go and showing great sportsmanship.
As part of our Fun Friday activities the other week, the students took on an exciting domino challenge. They were tasked with building a domino run that could travel up and down steps and even split into two different directions. It was fantastic to see the creativity, teamwork and problem-solving on display — and lots of cheers when they got their domino chains to topple, somewhat, successfully!
It’s been wonderful to see the students so engaged in their learning and enjoying each new challenge. We’re looking forward to all the exciting things still to come this term!
