Year 5\6 Quantum Excursion

On June 3rd, the grade 5/6s went to Quantum Victoria for a 3D Design and Printing excursion. We started by doing a quiz about how much we knew about 3D printing. Then we used a program called TinkerCAD and we learnt how to manipulate and group shapes together, the Quantum staff directed us through each step of the process. We practised heaps of shapes and designed it ourselves waiting for the real 3D printing to begin.

After a break we finally got to designing our own keychains. We could use any shape, design and put our own name or initials on it. During our second break, the 3D printers went to work and we came back to our freshly printed product! We then did a quiz at the end to show the instructors what we had learnt. Everyone had a wonderful time and we all left with our own keychains! It was a very enjoyable and very exciting day.
