Mr Hugh McLaughlin
Firstly, I would like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all staff, students, and families for the incredibly warm welcome I have received here at Karoo. Moving schools is never easy, but the positive energy throughout Karoo has made this transition seamless.
I’ve been very lucky this week to have an interview with three incredible school leaders who are showing maturity and thinking beyond their years. Below is the transcript:
Q: What stands out for you about Karoo?
A: The warmth of the school and its welcoming and inviting community.
Q: Where have you been before Karoo?
A: I spent my first four years of teaching at Lloyd Street in Malvern. I then transitioned out to Boronia Heights when I moved house to Wantirna. For the last five years, I have been at Barton Primary School in Cranbourne West.
Q: What is your cultural background?
A: I was born in Australia, as were my parents. However, my heritage is traced back to England, Ireland, Scotland, and New Zealand.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A: I love spending time with my young kids; they’re at a fun age. If I have spare time, I try to squeeze in a game of hockey, a sport I’ve played since I was 7.
Q: Describe yourself in three words
A: Caring, Fun, and Supportive.
