Visual Art

This week in Visual Art we have been learning about the fabulous collage techniques of South Australian Artist, Sue Dowse. Sue uses print media to create artworks featuring all sort of animals, including humans. Sue’s pieces incorporate printed text which creates great visual interest. We found lots to inspire us in Sue’s work.

Sophie from grade one completed this beautiful butterfly; inspired by the artwork of Eric Carle (author and illustrator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar). This amazing piece took Sophie about four art lessons to complete. That’s some impressive staying power Soph!

In the art room, the senior students have a broad range of different processes and materials to choose from each session.

This week’s photos show ‘Student Voice’ in action with just a few of the many things our students choose to do this week. NEXT week we will have even more of the student’s excellent suggestions organised and ready to experience.
