5/6 Swimming

For the last 5 weeks each Thursday our 5/6 students have been bused to YAWA Aquatic Centre where they have continued to develop their swimming stroke technique as well as work on their water safety development. 

A VERY BIG THANK-YOU to Monica, who has been shuttling our students on the bus to Yawa and Bill (Jenny Todd's Dad) and Sarah Pancic who have been assisting with teaching. We are extremely fortunate at St Joey's to have the help and expertise to run such a fantastic swimming program. 

District Athletics

On Friday 25th August 41 St Joseph's students competed at the Phillip District Athletics Carnival. A very big congratulations and thank-you to all students for the incredible way in which they represented our school. 

Again, the level of enthusiasm and competition was incredible and our students showed determination, sportsmanship and teamwork. 

We had many individual successes and a number of students have qualified to compete at the next level of competition, which is a wonderful achievement. The division athletics carnival will be held in the first week of Term 4 at the Mornington Athletics track, on Wednesday 4th October. 

Thank-you to Vicki Stirling, Sarah Pancic and Ryan Robinson for their fantastic guidance and support for our students at the event and to the many families who came to support.

Run Club

What a fabulous turn up every Wednesday morning for our shared Sorrento/St Joey's Running Club at Sorrento Primary Oval. Thank-you to all our parents who help with this. If your child would like to be part of this, please come along at 8am on Wednesday mornings. 

Congratulations

A big congratulations to Lily who won Mt Hotham Banked Slalom U/12 division. It was wonderful to view her winning plaque yesterday.
