From The Classroom

Grade 1/2

In Grade 1/2 we have been so busy and having lots of fun in our learning! In Reading, we have been learning about the Author’s Purpose and enjoying the Book Week celebrations this week. In Writing, we are busy learning about different types of poems. This week we have learnt about acrostic poems. We made acrostic poems using our names and displayed them as rainbows in the classroom. In Maths, we are learning about measurement and this week we used some informal tools to measure the length of different classroom objects.In our Integrated Studies we are beginning a new History unit where students are exploring the past, present and future language and comparing the past with the present. In Wellbeing, we are learning about how to be kind to ourselves, which helps us feel good and as a result be kind to people around us. We are friendship ninjas and we have been practising naming and taming our feelings and emotions! We have also been enjoying 1/2 sport where we have been practicing for school Athletics and learning how to be safe online in Digital Technologies.
