Monash Youth Festival

Senior Choir and Band

On Monday morning, Years 5 and 6 students in the Senior Choir travelled to the The Temple in Glen Waverley and performed in the Monash Youth Music Festival. The students competed against three schools including; Tintern Grammar, Berwick Primary School and Harkaway College. Mrs De Wilde conducted the choir for two fantastic songs. They sang ‘Oh Shenandoah’ and ‘Music Changes the World.’ It was an absolutely beautiful performance! The students placed second in the competition and proudly brought a trophy and certificate back to school! The senior choir represented the school wonderfully and we are very proud of our extremely talented students.

A huge thank you to Mrs De Wilde and her wonderful senior choir for all of their hard work and dedication. Thank you also to Mr Wood and Mr Liston for accompanying the students during their performance on the day. Well Done Senior Choir!

On Saturday 12 August, some members of our senior band also performed in the Monash Youth Festival. Thank you to those that gave up their weekend to represent our school, and all of the music staff at Good Shepherd who have taught and rehearsed with them.  Thank you to Mr Tom Panckridge for his work with the School Band. They performed superbly on Saturday 12th August at the Salvation Army Temple as part of the Monash Youth Festival.
