Celebrating Learning

We’ve had such a jam-packed couple of weeks in 1S! We celebrated NAIDOC Day, Wear it Purple Day and Book Week together with our wider school community, and discussed the significance of each day together in our class. 

We also had the opportunity to attend 3/4S’s play rehearsal which was fantastic to see. We unfortunately had a funeral for Chameleon, where the children said such beautiful things about our stick insect friend. 

Our current Main lesson is exploring the elements. We’ve looked at earth through stories and are now exploring the element of air. 

Students have also recently created their own stories for a schoolwide writing competition, based on the prompt ‘growing and learning’. 

Students have responded so well to the Human Sexuality and Consent lessons, in which we have discussed body bubbles, the scientific names of our private parts, consent and safety networks. 

Thank you so much for your support and effort with all of our dress ups and community events in the past weeks. You’ve helped to make some really beautiful moments and memories for 1S.
