Medication Plan Changes

We are introducing a change to our Medication Plans which we hope will make things a little easier for families going forward. There are now two versions of our Medication Plan forms:

  1. For Prescription Medication - this is essentially the same as our original Medication Form which requires a doctor to complete the information for all medications that are prescribed by a doctor.
  2. For Over the Counter Medication - this is a new form that can be completed by a Pharmacist for medications that do not require a prescription, eg. some pain killers, hayfever tablets, special creams and ointments.

Welcome Lola

We are excited to announce that our Wellbeing Dog is going to be called 'Lola'. Her name means "understanding sadness to be able to experience joy". Congratulations to the Year 6 class for winning the naming competition. Thanks also to Novi B for making the wonderful prizes for the Year 6 class. Lola is arriving in Adelaide today and will be settling in with the Harry family over the next few weeks. As she undertakes training in Term 4, we as a school community will also be doing some learning around welcoming Lola into our community and how we can best support her and make her feel comfortable at school.

ICAS & Bebras Challenge Certificates

On Tuesday 19th September, students that received a Merit and above for the ICAS (English and Digital Technologies) and Bebras Challenge, will be presented with their certificate during Worship. Participation certificates will be issued during class.

RAP Update

Through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) we are committed to partnering with experts in the community to support, encourage and advise us with implementing our action deliverables. Tommy recently shared with us at our all in staff meeting with heartfelt and insightful words. We look forward to working with him in the near future.

My name is Tommy, I’m a proud Badimaya, Narungga man who’s grown up in SA my whole life and now work for KWY. I’m passionate about building bridges between the ‘two worlds’ we live in as Aboriginal people and fostering a learning environment that values culture and connection to ourselves, community and country. I pride myself on being approachable and creating environments where we can feel comfortable with the uncomfortable. I love learning, playing footy and camping. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and working on some fun projects along the way.

Cheers,

Planning for 2024

As per our recent email, if your family has different plans for 2024 and your child will not be returning to Pilgrim School next year, please remember the school requires a term’s notice in writing. Please complete our Notice of Enrolment Withdrawal form by Friday 29th September (the end of Week 10 this term) to avoid paying a term’s fees in lieu of agreed notice.

Operation Christmas Child

This term the Student Representative Council has chosen for our school to participate in 'Operation Christmas Child'. We are aiming to fill two shoeboxes per class - one for a boy and one for a girl. This is a great blessing for the children who receive them and helps our students look outwards and develop in Godly character.

Could you please support your child in bringing a new item to add to the shoebox? Some ideas are stationery, clothing items, small toys, soft teddies, school supplies, hair accessories and small musical instruments. For a full list of ideas, click on the following link:

Please do not include war toys, food or lollies, used items, or Happy Meal toys.

If you would prefer to donate money instead of an item, this will be used to cover postage of the boxes, or to purchase some extra items. This can be done via the Qkr! App.

Donations will be received until the end of Week 9 (Friday 22nd September).

Thank you for your willingness to support our students in serving others.
