On Friday, the 14th of November, the Girls Volleyball Squad put in a strong effort during their game against Greenhills A. Lydia kept the team steady with some solid bumps that helped control the play. Georgie followed up with a smooth set, giving her teammates a good chance to return the ball. Hailey showed great versatility with both a confident serve and a clean bump. Sam also added pressure with her reliable serving, and Poppy made another good bump to keep the rally going. Even though it was a tough match, the team worked hard and showed great teamwork throughout the game.

Today’s game was sunny compared to the rainy days we have had for the other games we have had this term. The Greenhills squad took a long time to arrive, so we warmed up with a practice match beforehand. Once they arrived, the Greenhills squad was a powerful outfit, eventually winning 210-123. Despite the loss all our players gave great effort and fought for the whole match.

Today we played against Greenhills Primary School. We started with the Girls' singles and we were hitting away very well! We had very nice weather for the game today. In the middle of the first round of girls' singles, one of the Greenhills students fell on the court. One of our students helped her up - showing God's love - so she could be taken to the nurse. The player was replaced by a teammate. She was okay afterward though.
It was 14 degrees when we started and nice and sunny. The players all seemed pretty happy while they were playing and were showing great sportsmanship.
We alternated girls' singles with boys' singles for the first 30 min. After the singles rounds, we played the doubles games. There were no more injuries during the day and everyone played really well. Plenty Valley won the day pretty convincingly with a few easy wins and a few close matches as well.

This week’s game against Greenhills A was a loss. Our team was defeated, 12-23. Even though we lost, there was still a lot of fun had, and we even took some tricks out of their book. I want to point out the very unlucky first inning that our team had. They managed to get out our first three batters, which automatically ends our batting, meaning we didn’t get any runs. Of course, they were a strong team, but that didn’t stop us from doing great bats.
I would also like to point out Mr Musgrove’s pre-game train he did. He set up an activity that allowed players to work out when they should and shouldn’t run from base to base, which was a skill that stronger teams, such as the one we versed, had. It was a disappointing loss, but it allowed the team to learn more about the game. When good bats were struck, the began to cooperate more and work together to rush the ball home. Overall, the team did their best, and encouraged each other the whole game.

The PVCC Boys basketball squad played out a great contest against Greenhills A, with both teams sharing the lead throughout out the match. The MVP for this week is Tom. He was noticeably condiment with the ball, and took his driving opportunities and open shots when he had the chance. It was a strong effort from the whole team.
The PVCC Girls basketball squad won a thrilling match against a strong opponent in Greenhills A. Despite the Greenhills team being much taller and winning the battle for rebounds, our team kept fighting and made the most of our chances. Both teams had chances to win, but the PVCC girls scored important baskets in the last couple of minutes to secure the win.
