Principal`s Message

What an incredible year of highlights and achievements! We witnessed our community coming together with pride and deep connectedness. This is the genuine Fitzroy Primary School community we know, love, and value.

Our minds are filled with so many highlights from this year. Your positivity, sense of fun, and resilience have paved the way for our success.

We are indeed fortunate to have such an amazing staff. I am always humbled by their continued efforts, dedication, and nurturing care of our students. They go above and beyond daily to support learning and wellbeing. They build strong relationships with our students and families and never cease to amaze me with how much they do, even when they are exhausted and crawling to the finish line at the end of the year. I would like to say thank you.

Year 6 Graduation

Last week, we celebrated the achievements of our Year 6 students as they graduated from Fitzroy Primary School. It was a wonderful occasion filled with pride, laughter, and a few tears as we reflected on their journey and growth over the years. Watching them step confidently into the next chapter of their lives was a reminder of the incredible potential each of them holds.

To our graduates: as you move into high school, remember that learning is not just about knowledge, it’s about curiosity, resilience, and kindness. Embrace challenges as opportunities, stay true to your values, and never underestimate the power of hard work and a positive attitude. You are capable of amazing things, and we can’t wait to see the paths you create. Dream big, be brave, and keep making us proud!

2026 Staffing

As the year draws to an end, we have staff leaving us to pursue other opportunities after completing fixed-term positions.

  • Kelly who will be pursuing other avenues
  • Ari will be leaving us in a full time capacity but will continue to do casual days with us in 2026
  • Hannah is finishing her time with us and is taking up a new position at Caulfield Jnr College
  • Finally, Dursitu will be on maternity leave in 2026, and we wish her well with the impending arrival of her baby.

I would like to thank them for their work at Fitzroy Primary School during their time with us and wish them the very best in their new roles and adventures.

2026 Classes

Last Tuesday, we had our transition day, where students found out their class for 2026. Determining classes is a lengthy and complex process to ensure the best possible placements for each student. Factors we consider include academic achievement, interpersonal development, learning styles and needs, friendships, and the ratio of each year level within composite classes.

Class Structure for 2026:

  • Foundation – Lorna and Fabienne
  • 1/2A – Leah and Adeline
  • 1/2B – Jasna and Adeline
  • 1/2C - Julia and Jennah
  • 1/2D - Declan and Adeline
  • 3/4A – Courtney and Julie
  • 3/4B – Courtney and Julie

As we head into the holiday season, I encourage everyone to take the time to relax, recharge your batteries, and enjoy precious moments with family and friends. For those celebrating Christmas, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a joyful festive season.

To those leaving us next year, good luck with your next steps. Remember, you will always be part of our Fitzroy Primary School community, and I hope you take with you fond memories and lasting friendships.

For everyone else, I look forward to welcoming you back for our 171st  and another exciting year of learning in 2026
