This week, students explored the different types of friendships in their lives and how trust, respect, and even healthy conflict help friendships grow. They discussed how relationships can change over time and learned that conflict is a normal part of friendships when handled respectfully.
Students also explored the idea of a 'friendship bucket,' a simple way to think about how our actions can fill or empty someone’s sense of connection. They reflected on how full their own bucket feels and completed an activity that helped them consider how they can fill someone else's bucket.
By the end of the lesson, students were talking confidently about what trust and respect look like in action and how they can use these skills to navigate their own friendships.
We encourage families to discuss their child's 'bucket' and the strategies they learned for building strong, healthy relationships.
