Summer Strings Celebration Concert a huge success
On the evening of Wednesday 3rd December, the hall was filled with the beaming faces of 122 string students and their family & friends for the end of year Celebration Concert. The Start Up Strings, Corelli Strings, Orchestra, The Mangbows and even the string staff delighted the audience with a wide variety of music. The final piece of the night was the Corelli Strings and the Orchestra combined (93 children!) playing the William Tell Overture. Then came the presentation of scrolls to the Year 6 students and their walk through the Corelli Strings’ bow guard of honour. The string teachers were all so impressed with how all the groups rose to the occasion to deliver engaging, confident performances. Go IPS Strings!
Start Up Strings perform in assembly
On Monday 8th December, Start Up Strings performed “Footprints in the Snow” and “Bow Rock” with great focus and precision in assembly.

AMEB Certificates presented in assembly
Requiring purposeful, focused work over a period of months, attaining an AMEB exam certificate is a fine achievement. Congratulations to Chloe (2S), Hudson (3O), Raffaela (4O), Sally (4K), Archie (5R), Charlie (5B), Miara (5R), Niamh (5M), Oliver (5M), Olivia T (5T), Olivia PC (5R), Toby (5T), Zara (5R), Adam (6H) and Vivaan (6H)!
Pop up music in the playground is back
The Mangbows delighted arrivals to school on Wednesday and Thursday mornings with some carols under the Foundation Balcony. It was wonderful to see so many people gathering around and to hear many children spontaneously singing along.
Start Up Strings 2026
Year 1 students have been thinking about whether they will join Start Up Strings next year. There has been a strong interest, but if your child is interested, but you haven’t yet registered their interest, please email the strings co-ordinator, margaret.butcher@education.vic.gov.au

AMEB Certificates presented in assembly
Requiring purposeful, focused work over a period of months, attaining an AMEB exam certificate is a fine achievement.
