PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Last Friday evening, our School Community came together to celebrate the Valedictory Dinner Night. It was an unforgettable occasion filled with pride, laughter, reflection, and a shared sense of achievement. Families, friends, teachers, and students gathered to honour the journey of this year’s graduating class, and it was clearly a wonderful night had by all.

This year, 22 students completed Year 12, representing a diverse and hardworking group who embraced a variety of pathways. Their studies included VCE, VET subjects, and—excitingly for the first time in our School’s history—the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and the Vocational Major. Each pathway reflected the students’ individual strengths, interests, and aspirations, and the evening provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate the dedication and resilience required to reach this milestone.

Throughout the night, guests enjoyed speeches, thoughtful reflections, and warm congratulatory messages from staff who have supported the students throughout their secondary schooling. Many took time to recall challenges overcome, friendships formed and the personal growth witnessed throughout the year. The atmosphere was filled with admiration and anticipation as the graduates were acknowledged for their commitment to their learning and their future.

Now, with the celebrations behind us, we turn our attention to the next big moment on the horizon. We eagerly await the release of the students’ results, which will arrive in the second last week of term. No matter the numbers that appear on those sheets, we know each student has already achieved something significant by completing their chosen pathway and stepping confidently toward their future.

Congratulations to the Class of Year 12.

TEXTBOOKS NEXT YEAR:

As the Department of Victoria implements Curriculum 2.0 across all domains in 2026, KTHS has reviewed our learning resources to ensure they best support our students and families. In an effort to reduce costs for parents, we are pleased to advise that students in Years 7–10 will not be required to purchase textbooks for 2026. As a result, parents will be unable to sell or supply second-hand textbooks for Years 7–10.

Please note that Year 11 and Year 12 students will still be required to purchase textbooks for their VCE/VPC studies. We are currently finalising the 2026 Curriculum and elective allocations. Booklists will be distributed once student course allocations have been confirmed in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work to provide high-quality, accessible learning for all students.
