We have enjoyed a productive last few weeks of term with our headstart program powering into next year and laying the foundations for a great 2026.
The HeadStart Program offered our students a chance to gear up for 2026 by stepping into their new classes and getting a preview of what’s to come in their studies. It was also fantastic to welcome next year’s Year 7 cohort as they navigated their three-day Orientation Program at our Morwell and Churchill Campuses. Both Year 7 parent evenings were full houses, and it was great to meet these new Kurnai families and see them engaged in their children’s education.
Gumbuya World once again provided a wonderful way to end the year. The weather was on our side, allowing students and staff to relax, have fun, and bond outside the classroom. Whether it was splashing in the wave pool or enjoying the rides, our students made the most of the day, representing Kurnai College with pride. We hope to make this a tradition for years to come.
A huge congratulations to all our Year 12 students who successfully completed their VCE or VCE VM. Whether they’re heading into further study, training, or the workforce, we are confident they’ll thrive in their chosen paths. Congratulations everyone.
A special shout-out goes to our 2025 VCE dux, Oliver McColl. Oliver's incredible achievement is a testament to his dedication and perseverance. Well done, Oli!
As always, the end of the year brings farewells and fresh beginnings. Saying goodbye to our senior students is always bittersweet, and we also bid farewell to some staff members. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.
On a brighter note, we’re thrilled to welcome several new teachers from nearby and a couple from across the globe to Kurnai College. We deeply appreciate these educators for taking the leap to join us and look forward to embracing the diverse perspectives they’ll bring to our Learning Community.
We are looking to start 2026 with a full complement of staff and lots of new students at year 7 as well as plenty of enrolments at all year levels. We will be ready and raring to go for the start of next year
Wishing you all a safe and joyful festive season! We can’t wait to see you back at Kurnai in the new year.
