Safe Crossings, Safe Kids

The Department of Transport and Planning has launched a Safe Crossings, Safe Kids initiative for school crossings. This new initiative:
reminds road users of the special road rules that apply at school crossings
promotes 8 safe behaviours at school crossings for drivers
outlines how to identify a school crossing.

You may also notice new posters up around our school promoting safe behaviours at school crossings. When driving, remember to slow down and prepare to stop at school crossings, wait for everyone to cross and treat our wonderful crossing supervisors kindly. When walking, please be a safety role model to your children and do not cross busy roads where there is a school or pedestrian crossing available.
We acknowledge that drop off and pick up times can be very busy and that traffic can be challenging, however we please ask everyone to make safety of students, staff, crossing guards and community members a priority.
