Term 3, Week 1

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Term 3, it has been great to see all the smiles and excited students back at school this week. We have a wide range of learning opportunities and events planned across all year levels this term. Some of which include: celebrating 100 Days of Prep this week, PJ Day next Friday, Book week, Year 4 Camp, Year 6 Sacrament of Confirmation, Community engagement events, Father’s Day Breakfast, Feast Day celebrations and of course, Footy Day to end the term. PJ Day.

Congratulations to our Semester 2 Class Captains, I’m sure they are going to do an exceptional job at being positive role models and demonstrating our school expectations of being safe, respectful, responsible and kind. Thank you to our Semester 1 Class Captains for their enthusiasm and commitment to their class captain roles and responsibilities.

On Thursday, our preps celebrated 100 days of school. A day of fun and engaging activities all to do with the number 100. Teachers and students all dressed up as if they were 100 years old, lots of walking sticks, grey hair and glasses. It was great to see all the parents attend our assembly and watch our Prep parade. Thank you to Jennifer Ishow for donating and taking the time to make the very colorful balloon garland for our Preps. What a great way to end the week with our youngest learners reflecting on how much they have grown and learnt in 100 days!!!

Next Friday, our whole school will be acknowledging National Pyjama Day. Students are invited to wear their pyjamas or oodies to school and bring along a gold coin donation. In regards to footwear, students are to wear school shoes or runners, NO SLIPPERS please! It’s a fun way for everyone to get involved and show their support, while helping raise funds and awareness for children in foster care. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please click on the link: Pyjama Day Donations

NAPLAN reports for our Year 3 and Year 5 students have arrived. Hard copies will be sent home with students on Monday and there will also be electronic copies available via COMPASS. These assessments provide valuable insight into your child’s progress in literacy and numeracy, helping us as a school to identify strengths and areas for further growth. While NAPLAN is just one snapshot of your child’s learning, it plays an important role in informing our teaching and ensuring we continue to meet the learning needs of all students. Overall, our students have achieved impressive results, which reflects their hard work and dedication.

Due to limited staffing, the canteen will be closed during break times. All snacks and lunch items will need to be pre-ordered through COMPASS. Please note that there will be no icy pole or ice cream sales available, especially as we move through the colder months. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

School closure day this term:  Monday 18th August

School Calendar: Please check the School Community Calendar Page for important upcoming events.

We look forward to a great second semester, where we will remain committed to working together to ensure continued growth and success for all.

Take Care and God Bless
