This week, as we honour NAIDOC Week, we celebrate the culture, history, and achievements of our First Nations Peoples. It’s a timely reminder of the rich diversity within our community and the unique story each person, family, and tradition contributes to the evolving tapestry of Marist College Ashgrove.
Over the recent holiday break, many students embraced exciting opportunities beyond the classroom. From carving snowy trails on the Ski Trip to New Zealand, to showcasing talent and teamwork in the Confraternity Shield, to deep cultural engagement during the Timor Leste immersion, our young men displayed commendable enthusiasm, character, and curiosity. The Basketball and Tennis Camps also drew keen participation, reinforcing our commitment to fostering holistic development through sport and community. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff, coaches, and volunteers who made these experiences possible.
As Term 3 begins, we’re poised for a vibrant season of activity and achievement. For our Year 12 students, this marks their final term of classes - a significant milestone filled with reflection and anticipation. Across the College, our sporting calendar continues to flourish with Rugby League, Tennis, Basketball, and preparations for the AIC Track and Field season already underway. Artistic pursuits also resume, offering students continued avenues for expression and creativity.
We look forward to hallmark community events such as the Walkathon and the Long Lunch, moments that unite us in spirit and purpose. Meanwhile, our Year 11 students embark on their Leadership Selection journey, a key chapter in their growth as future custodians of our College culture.
At Marist College Ashgrove, community is not just what we have—it’s what we actively nurture. May this term be filled with meaningful connections, vibrant learning, and shared purpose.

Many of our parents are keen to help in some way to contribute to the Marist community that we are so well known for. Two ways to do this are through volunteering in the College Tuckshop during the day, or through the Sports Canteens on the weekend.
If you would like to volunteer in the Tuckshop during the day, please click on the relevant link below. Our Tuckshop convenor Josie Loucas will take your details and be only too happy to welcome you into the Tuckshop volunteer family. If you are too nervous to volunteer on your own, there is always the possibility of signing up with a friend. Just let Josie know if you want to be there at the same time as a buddy and I know she will help you out. We have parents who leave at the end of their son’s schooling journey commenting on how much they loved their regular (weekly, fortnightly or even term-by-term) Tuckshop catch-up with friends over the years.

For Sports Canteen volunteers, please keep an eye out on the App for calls to sign up. Remember – if you feel more comfortable with a friend, please rope them in and take them along. The more the merrier!
We wish to inform you of an upcoming change to the pricing of items at our school tuckshop. As part of our commitment to providing nutritious and high-quality food to our students, we’ve worked hard to maintain affordable pricing over the years. However, due to rising costs in food supplies, packaging, and operational expenses, we have found it necessary to make a small increase to some of our menu prices.
These changes will come into effect from 15th July 2025. Please rest assured that we remain focused on delivering healthy and varied options that support the wellbeing of our students.
We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support as we continue to provide this valuable service to our school community.
