Religious Education

We ask our school community to please keep Fr Ian in your prayers as he navigates some medical challenges at this time. May he feel the strength, comfort, and healing presence of God and everyone around him. We give thanks for his ongoing dedication to our parish and school, and we pray for a smooth and full recovery. In the meantime we thank Fr Stephen who has stepped up to run the sacrament of Eucharist for our Year 4 students and is running Mass at our Church for the parishioners.
Over the past week, we have celebrated a very special milestone in the faith journey of many of our students as they received the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time. We are so proud of each of them and the reverence, joy, and commitment they have shown throughout their preparation. Please keep these students in your prayers as they continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus and live out His message in their daily lives.
Parent Feedback for future Eucharist Sacraments
As the Sacrament of Eucharist is such a significant and valued milestone in the life of our students and families, we are committed to listening and welcoming feedback from all parents within our school community. We invite you to share your thoughts by completing the Google Form linked below. This information will be thoughtfully considered when planning for 2026 and into the future.
Gospel Reflection - The Feast Day of Mary MacKillop - Friday 8th of August
This Friday, we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint. Mary MacKillop dedicated her life to helping others—especially the poor and those living in remote communities—through education and faith. She co-founded the Sisters of Saint Joseph also known as the Josephites and is remembered for her courage, compassion, and belief that “Never see a need without doing something about it.”
💬Read, reflect and discuss
- Talk as a family about Mary MacKillop’s famous quote. What does it mean to “never see a need without doing something about it”?
- How can we live this out in our daily lives?
🎨Family Activity - Acts of Kindness
- Create a simple 'Acts of Kindness' poster together. Each family member can write down one kind act they will do over the next fortnight, inspired by Mary’s example of service.
🙏 Pray together
Loving God,
We thank you for the life of Saint Mary MacKillop. Help us to follow her example of kindness, courage, and love for others. May we see the needs around us and respond with open hearts. Teach us to trust in You, as Mary did, even when things are difficult. May her spirit of generosity and faith continue to inspire us in our homes, our school, and our community.
Amen.
May God bless,
Laura Zeeng
