From Monday 18 August we'll celebrate all books, with a particular focus on the theme of Book an Adventure. 

 

We have an exciting week planned – full of fun and creativity, that inspires a love for reading! Here’s a sneak peek...

Dress Up Day and Parade

Monday, 18th August

Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character! We’ll hold a fun parade in the gym, with prizes for the most creative costumes.

 

Please bring a gold coin donation to support our chosen charity, the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

 

Parade times: 

  • 9:20am Prep-Year 2 students 
  • 10am Year 3-6 

Parents, you're welcome to come and watch, please use the bleacher seating in the gym.

Book Fair

Online Mary Martin Book Fair – 6th to 17th August

Start your book shopping early from the comfort of your own home! Mary Martin's Online Book Fair is live, and for every purchase over $30, you’ll go in the draw to win a fantastic hamper, and have a go at the Golden Ticket raffle when collecting your books at school. 

 

Onsite Book Fair - 18th to 20th August, 3:30-4pm

Our annual onsite Book Fair will be open in the school library from 3:30 to 4pm. Plus, every purchase gets you a chance to win a Golden Ticket mystery prize.

Live Theatrical Performance

Wednesday, 20th August

Books to Life return with a live performance based on one of CBCA's top book titles General Waste. You won’t want to miss this theatrical adventure!

Competitions

We’re inviting all students to enter our special prize competitions.

 

Drawing Competition

Design the front cover of an adventure book inspired by the theme: Book an Adventure 

Suggested paper size A4 (max A3).

 

Writing Competition

Write your very own ‘micro story’ inspired by the theme Book an Adventure.

  • Prep - Year 2: 100 word count limit
  • Year 3 - Year 6: 200 word count limit

*Write your name and class on your entry and hand in to your teacher or the School Office.

 

Whole School Book Trivia Competition

Gather your book knowledge and competitive spirit! The Whole School Book Trivia competition is back with exciting prizes and lots of fun!

Daily Storytelling & Classroom Activities

Throughout the week, our students will enjoy daily storytelling sessions and exciting classroom activities that inspire imaginations and encourage a love of reading. We can’t wait to celebrate the magic of books and the spirit of adventure with all our students and families!
