International Women’s Day

Our school community came together to celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday 13th March with a range of meaningful and engaging activities. What a fantastic day it was.

The day began with a reflective “Do Now” activity, where students wrote letters of gratitude to influential women in their lives. This was a powerful way to recognise and appreciate the impact of mothers, carers, teachers, friends and role models within our community. It was wonderful to see the thought and care students put into their writing, with many expressing genuine appreciation and respect.

Throughout the day, there was a real sense of energy and connection across the school with students and staff embracing the occasion by wearing a touch of pink. It was wonderful to see the school come alive with colour, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere throughout the day.

Staff were treated to a delicious bake sale, with a wide variety of homemade goodies generously prepared and shared. A big thank you to everyone who contributed, your efforts helped create a warm and celebratory atmosphere.

Our students also played a key role in making the day such a success; including the much-anticipated staff vs students netball game, which brought plenty of excitement, friendly competition and great school spirit. It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved, cheering each other on and contributing to the positive atmosphere.

A special mention to the SRC and College Captains who did a fantastic job selling Zooper Dooper’s and helping to promote the day across the school, your enthusiasm and leadership was greatly appreciated.

We are also proud to share that all proceeds raised from the day were donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, supporting vital research and awareness.

International Women’s Day is an important opportunity to reflect on progress, recognise achievements, and continue to advocate for equality. It was wonderful to see our school community come together in such a positive and respectful way to celebrate this occasion.

Thank you again to all staff and students for your support in making the day such a success.
