Boarding 

It was wonderful to see our Boarders embracing opportunities beyond Kambala last Friday, when a group of senior girls attended a Trivia Night at St Joseph’s College, Hunters Hill (Joey’s). I had the pleasure of accompanying them alongside Mr Disher, and it was a fantastic evening of connection, laughter and friendly competition. Events like this are a valuable way for our girls to build relationships with boarders from other schools and strengthen their sense of community.

Back on campus, our Year 12 students have begun their first HSC assessment block for the year. This is an important milestone, and we wish them every success as they approach their exams with focus and determination. With just one week remaining in the term, we are also supporting all girls across every year level to complete their assessments and finish the term positively.

Weekend Rec Activities

Dumpling Making 

The junior girls enjoyed a fantastic day in the city, taking part in a hands-on dumpling-making class. They learned how to prepare both pork and vegetable fillings and had great fun experimenting with different folding techniques and creating their own unique dumpling designs. After all their hard work, the girls were rewarded with the best part — tasting their dumplings cooked three different ways: steamed, fried, and pan-fried. To finish the outing, everyone enjoyed a relaxed walk through the city for a well-earned ice cream. It was a wonderful experience full of creativity, teamwork, and delicious food!

Rec outing to Bondi Junction for Shopping and Yo Chi

Despite wet weather forcing a change of plans, the Kambala Boarders embraced a wonderful Sunday recreation outing. While the Bondi Beach trip had to be postponed, the girls were thrilled to head to Bondi Junction for an afternoon of shopping.

After a busy weekend of studying for assessments, the outing provided a well-earned opportunity to relax, unwind, and spend quality time with friends. Many girls enjoyed a bit of retail therapy, picking up items for themselves, preparing for the upcoming holidays, and even finding thoughtful birthday gifts for friends. 

The outing was completed with a delicious Yo Chi treat! Fresh frozen yoghurt with a huge variety of toppings and flavours! All the girls returned from the outing with faces full of smiles and shopping bags full of joy. It was a perfectly relaxing and enjoyable weekend outing.

Staff Update

We are very pleased to welcome Meg Armstrong to our boarding staff. Meg is currently studying Medicine at University of Notre Dame Australia, having previously completed her qualifications in Physiotherapy.

She has already formed strong connections with the girls and has made a very positive impression in the house. We are all enjoying getting to know her and are delighted to have her as part of our boarding team.

Events

Kambala Boarders have enjoyed supporting the school production of Picnic at Hanging Rock this week. A number of girls attended performances, showing their encouragement for peers involved both on stage and behind the scenes.
