My Connect 2

In 2025, Norwood Secondary will be introducing My Connect 2, a free online platform for staff and students to access all Norwood book-listed textbooks. Students will have their purchased textbooks available on their online platform, in one convenient place. Please note that where print and digital was listed on the book list, students will still have their hardcopy textbook for the classroom. In addition to the ease of everything being in one location, My Connect 2 also includes several functions that aim to enhance the opportunity for learning for our students. Some of these functions include an immersive reader, ability to read text aloud, add notes, highlight and embed video links. This video explains some of the features available on the platform.

Students will be sent a welcome email from Campion once they have completed the purchase of booklist items, detailing how to log in and access this free online program. Students will also be provided an opportunity to log in and set it up during mentoring in Term 1.

Homework Policy

Please refer to the updated Norwood Secondary Homework Policy, which is reviewed every four years.

The key changes to the document include:

  • The addition of definitions for ‘study’ and ‘revision’ which are also referenced in the year level sections.
  • Wider reading recommendations have been added.
  • Year levels have been split into Year 7 & 8, Year 9 & 10 and VCE.
  • Wording has changed from ‘expected to’ to ‘recommended’ regarding time spent completing homework.
  • Time spent on Homework has been reduced following KLA feedback. The goal is to be realistic in the implementation and completion of work at home.
  • The addition of ‘VCE students are required to complete practice exams for their Unit 3&4 subjects during the practice exam period, which is held during the second week of the Term 3 holidays. External assessors are used in some instances, to mark and provide feedback on these exams.’
  • Wording has changed under 'Teacher Expectations' from ‘assess homework and provide timely and practical feedback,’ to ‘check homework and where relevant provide timely and practical feedback’
