OHR ‘Spring Carnival’ Fete

On behalf of the PFA and OHR community, we are so grateful to the Fete committee for their tireless work in putting on a day that has been a resounding success!! The weather was perfect, there was a great balance of games and activities, food/drinks, stalls and plenty of fun was clearly had by all.  OHR was profiled in such a positive way as a great community and a school for local families to consider with lots of families from local kindergartens attending on the day.  The icing on the cake is the fete raising approx. $24,000!!  A survey was conducted some months ago about investing this money into re-carpeting the hall where most parents who responded agreed with spending funds on this. We are very happy to announce this can now go ahead, look out for details in 2025!

We also again thank our very generous Sponsors who helped make this event happen, and the many families and local community who supported this day through donations, baking and volunteering time in a range of ways – thank you!!!

PFA Committee and AGM

The OHR Parents and Friends Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) is being held on Wednesday 27 November at 7.30pm in the School Library.

The AGM will include the appointment of new PFA office bearers for 2025. With several existing members retiring from their position, changing positions or leaving the OHR community, we are putting the call out for a few new members.

We would especially welcome parents to nominate for the roles of:

President

  • Oversees the running of the Parents and Friends Association and chairs each monthly meeting. The president is called upon to make decisions in the best interest of the school and the PFA. This role works closely with the Vice-President in a hands-on way to ensure all fundraising and social event requirements are met.

Vice President (Social)

  • Organises and coordinates with the President and Principal, all PFA social activities for the year.  This role is supported by class rep coordinators and parent volunteers to put on social events.

Vice President (Fundraising)

  • Organises and coordinates with the President and Principal, fundraising activities for the year. This role is supported by class rep coordinators and parent volunteers to support any planned fundraiser activities.

Tuck Shop Co-ordinator

  • Oversees the running of the Tuckshop by preparing rosters at the beginning of each term, determining and ordering food items and Tuckshop price lists.

Other than the President role, each of the above roles may be shared between more than one parent.

Parents are encouraged to consider joining the PFA as a wonderful opportunity to be involved in your child’s school community and initiatives that support the education and wellbeing of children at OHR.
