From the Principal

Activity everywhere

The school has been a hive of activity this week.

We commenced the week by saying farewell and good luck to our Year Six students as they headed to Rottnest for the annual camp. The weather has been great and they are having a wonderful time.

On Tuesday, GSG welcomed The Hon. Dr Tony Buti - Minister for Education; Aboriginal Affairs; Citizenship and Multicultural Interests along with Rebecca Stephens MLA.

The Minister visited Year Four, the ECC Kiddo Program, Chemistry and VET music classes. He was impressed with our unique campus and the engaging learning environment here at GSG.

Our Year Two class has had some special arrivals this week. It was wonderful to share in their joy and learning. A photo here may give you a clue of what they have been up to.

Last night, the annual Year Eleven Mocktail event was held. Thank you to Mrs Teresa McAllister, Head of Technologies, the Secondary School leadership team, teachers and volunteers who made this event possible. The mocktail creations were outstanding and I am still recovering from the sugar fix. It was a wonderful social connection for our Year Eleven students as they commence their journey as a cohort in preparation for their leadership role in Year Twelve 2025.

Our school is being represented by Years Nine and Ten students at a school's Basketball carnival today. Congratulations to all those who have taken part and thank you to Mr Nathan Symonds, Director of Sport for his leadership.

Go well

Mr Mathew Irving | Principal
