Principal's Report
Dear families,
Monday is Remembrance Day where we are reminded to reflect on the sacrifices men and women made in all wars in the past. We do this, while acknowledging the unjust wars that are still raging in our world today. I have been discussing with my Year 9 RE class what it means to be Eucharistic people. As a Catholic, I am called through the Eucharist to become the ‘body of Christ’ – meaning that I have a duty to live out his mission. People of other religions, faiths and beliefs also can live out this mission just as well. How can this be done in a secular world? Micah from the Old Testament puts this simply: love tenderly, act justly and walk humbly with your God. How does this look in our St Brigid’s community? Speak up when you see something that is not right, forgive those who may have transgressed you and be a positive influence. This is our aspiration for our students.
We are now well into preparation for next year and I encourage all families to check the College calendar for the important dates that are coming up as we near the end of the year. One particular date is the 29th November where we will celebrate the Academic Awards at our end of year Liturgy. All parents and carers are welcome to attend the Liturgy at St Michael and John’s Church at midday, followed by the awards. The Year 7-9 students conclude activities week on 6 December. 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for St Brigid’s with new staff employed and the major refurbishment being completed mid year.
Stay safe
