Mrs Margaret Rootes, Heritage Officer and Secretary of the SMC Alumni Committee
For the past few years, the Alumni Committee has organised a light luncheon for all the Year 12 students who are about to graduate from school. The purpose of the luncheon is to congratulate them on completing their education at the College (almost!), show them that we care about them, and introduce the concept of being an alumni. After the Graduation Mass, as they leave the Cathedral, they too will become alumni.
This year, we shared lunch with the Year 12 cohort on Wednesday 25 September (which was coincidentally Footy Colours Day at the College), and it was a treat to see them together, full of hope and promise and to chat with them about the past and the future.
Alumni Committee members will also attend the Graduation Mass and Prize Giving to send these students on their way.
Many thanks to Mr Phil Shanny and his crew for the delicious lunch and great support. Thanks also to the College Leadership Team for their attendance and to Mrs Jo Dare for her assistance.
