Sport
It’s been another very busy fortnight in Sport here at Rangeview, here are some of the highlights;
Regional All-Star Hoop Time Finals
Our Senior All-Star Girls and Junior All-Star Boys recently competed at the Regional Hoop Time Finals, delivering outstanding performances against some of the top teams in the state. The girls went undefeated, displaying remarkable resilience, teamwork, and spirit, while the boys secured 4 wins and 1 loss in their pool, also finishing in 1st place. Both teams fought with determination in their Grand Finals and came out on top, earning well-deserved spots in the State Hoop Time Finals in December. This is a tremendous accomplishment, and we are thrilled to see our basketball teams competing at the highest level in the state once again!
A huge thank you to our families for their tremendous support of our basketball program, both in and out of school. The countless hours of training, driving, supporting, and skill-development are truly evident in the successes across the school.
Eastern Regional Softball
It was another successful day for Team Rangeview at the EMR Softball Finals at Waverley, despite the very hot conditions. Both our boys' and girls' teams battled against some of the strongest teams in the state, showing great team spirit and skill while recording some fantastic wins! Overall, our girls won their final two games to finish 5th in the region, while our boys, undefeated all day, were narrowly defeated in the Grand Final to finish 2nd 🥈 in the region out of over 400 schools. A huge thank you to Mrs. James for all her efforts in training and coaching & Leo L our captain for his fantastic leadership.
Eastern Regional Tennis
It was a very wet day at the Eastern Regional Tennis Finals this week, with our girls' teams representing Rangeview at Regionals for the first time since 2008. Despite the conditions, the girls played some terrific tennis against some of the strongest teams in the state. Unfortunately, the day was abandoned due to the weather, with our girls finishing 6th overall out of over 400 teams! Thank you to Miss Cant for all her coaching and support of our girls throughout their terrific run.
Eastern Regional Boys Netball
Team Rangeview had another fantastic day of sport, competing at the Eastern Regional Boys Netball Gala Day in Ferntree Gully. We were incredibly proud of how our amazing students represented our school, displaying exceptional sportsmanship, skill, and teamwork while having a great time! The day was filled with highlights and memorable moments.
Both teams performed exceptionally well, competing against over 70 teams from across the region. The A team finished 3rd in their division 🥉, and the B team were crowned division premiers! 🏆Special shout out to Frank Z in Level 6 and Campbell E in Level 4 who were our top best and fairest vote collectors on the day.
A huge thank you to our wonderful families and staff for their support throughout these events! What an incredible year it’s been!
2024 School Sports Victoria – Results
With the completion of our Regional events this week, we conclude an incredible year of participation in the School Sport Victoria program for 2024. It has been a record-breaking year for Rangeview, with over 300 students proudly representing our school and achieving outstanding results. Overall, Rangeview claimed 25 pennants to add to our trophy cabinet (school record) —a remarkable accomplishment that reflects the dedication of our students, Rangeview community and the support of our Level 5/6 teaching team who invest so much time and effort into the teams that they coach. We are so proud of how well our students had represented Rangeview across 2024!
