A celebration of our creativity
In Week 1, our students engage in activities to honour NAIDOC Week, which is held during the first full week of July. All classes took part in NAIDOC themed activities and learned about the significance of acknowledging our First Nations peoples.
Prep: Prep students read the book 'Respect' and subsequently crafted dot paintings within a kangaroo-shaped template using cotton buds and natural acrylic paints.
Year 1/2: Students read 'Find Your Heart' and painted rocks using natural acrylic paints, drawing inspiration from rock painting techniques.
Year 3/4: Students crafted snakes from paper plates, inspired by dot painting, and enhanced them with tongues and eyes for added realism.
Year 5/6: Our Year 5/6 students collaborated on a class artwork, contributing symbols and appropriate colours to a puzzle piece spelling out "NAIDOC WEEK".
