Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Friends and Father Arsenio,

Last week we welcomed Rachael Cox and welcomed back Joanna Major-Kelton to our school. Both are now teaching Year 1, which was Ruby's grade. They have settled in well and I look forward to working further with them both. Please make them welcome.

I am most grateful for the opportunity we had last Monday. It is no small feat to close our school as well as Sacred Heart in Croydon to bring the combined staff together. We had a great day of learning based on the theme of "Reset to Resilience.' Maria Ruberto (https://www.salutegenics.com.au/) ran the day well and left staff with quite an impression. Please don't hesitate to ask if you would like to know more.

Of note this week was the opportunity for a second parent/teacher meeting for families. If you missed the opportunity on Monday please take the time to chat further with your child's teacher.

It has been pleasing to finally see the new Ninja Playground being installed this week. It seems to have been a long time coming. It will provide many years of fun and enjoyment for students to come I am sure. It will be a good day when we get to cut the opening ribbon.

I am currently looking at reviewing our practises around 'Student Leadership.' It has been a number of years since this was last reviewed. This encompasses all positions including school captains amongst others. It includes the opportunities we offer as well as the appointment process. If you would like to assist this please feel free to volunteer to join the sub committee. Alternatively written submissions are also welcome. Further information will follow.

This weekend we are celebrating with the Rite of Commitment (for Eucharist) at all Parish Masses. Please feel free to join us at 7pm Saturday or 9am / 5pm on Sunday. All families are very welcome.

Have a great week,

Duncan
