COHR Italian Day 2024
ITALIAN DAY 2024!
Grazie to all the staff, students and parents who participated or were involved with Italian day.
It was a joy to see the students have such a wonderful day working with children in their house colours and who they would not normally work with.
Grazie to the Italian committee of students ( Zara P, Alyssa, Serena, Taj, Mila & Noah) who assisted with planning and then running Italian day lunch time activities and also the whole school assembly.
Grazie to the parents who volunteered their time to organise or help out with Crostoli and pizza.
A special Grazie to Tarantino’s Pizza who provided us with pizza on the day and who generously donated voucher prizes for our two raffles on the day.
Here are some reflections written by our Year 5 & 6 students !
Italian Day was a blast! We did so many fun activities we got the chance to be inventors, artist designers and dancers and if that wasn't enough fun, we got delicious crostoli and mouth watering pizza. When we thought our day full of fun was over, we got to see an amazing one woman performance. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget and an amazing last Italian day 💗 Macie (5/6C)
On Italian Day my favourite thing about it was helping the younger and spending the time with my friends in my house colour. I liked all of the activities but I especially liked helping the younger students. My favourite activity was the incursion because I got to help with it and it was entertaining. I learned a lot about the places in Italy. Jack (5/6C)
On Italian Day I really enjoyed the whole day. It was my first Italian Day and I enjoyed the show, pizza and also the activities. I really appreciate all the work Signora Pansino did and all the parents that helped on the day. It was really a good day. Aden (5/6C)
Italian Day was truly a day to remember. All the great food , games and the show were all amazing and I wouldn't want the day to be any other way! I really loved the Leonardo Da Vinci parachute activity because we got to try out different ways of making a parachute. For example , some people used hole punchers to make holes , but some people used pencils. The atmosphere on Italian day was great , making it feel like we were really in Italy. Zara. G (5/5C)
I had a really great Italian Day experience. I really enjoyed all the activities, from crafting 3D Leaning Tower of Pisa's to decorating La Carnevale masks. But, overall, my favourite activity was learning the traditional Italian tambourine dance, the Tarantella. I also really enjoyed playing Tombola (basically Italian-themed Bingo) with my house colours. And of course, I truly enjoyed eating delicious Italian food, such as Crostoli and pizza. I also really enjoyed watching the Italian incursion. It was both educational and entertaining. I had so much fun getting all dressed up and participating in Italian Day, and I really wish I could experience this all again. Liesel (5/6G)
On Monday the 24th of June, we all had the pleasure of participating in a handful of Italian-Themed activities. We all dressed up in Italian colours, or an Italian-Themed person (Soccer Player, Artist, Ferrari Driver). The outfits were all unique and showed that people had put lots of effort into their individual Italian costumes. I personally enjoyed all of the activities, but the incursion at the end was a fun experience, and a great grand finale. We all watched a play-like performance, where multiple students volunteered to help her up the front with joyful acts, which everyone enjoyed. We also joined in with a game of Tombola, Made Carnevale masks, Made Parachutes based on Leonardo Da Vinci, and Made a 3d artwork of the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Overall, the day was a blast, so thank you to Signora Pansino for your planning, it was so much fun! Bridget (5/6G)
Italian Day was a day to remember with experiences including lunch games, creative activities and performances to remember. I was lucky to take part in the lunch time games and be in the Italian day committee. Alyssa (5/6G)
