Year 12
Concreting is the focus of this term with students experimenting with a range of finishing techniques, reinforcement options and mix ratios. The Agriculture plot will receive an extension to the shed apron with the area manually excavated and formwork all setup ready to mix a cubic metre with two mixes.
Hospitality
Year 11
This term, Year 11 Hospitality students have been practising their skills by making easy dishes including basic spaghetti bolognese, Caesar salad wraps, and chicken parmigiana and salad. This helps improve their basic cooking skills before trying more complex recipes. Students have also learnt how to work as a team in the kitchen before they commence work placement in the Cafe.
Year 12
Year 12 Hospitality students have been putting their barista skills to the test, brewing delicious coffees for both staff and residents at the Grange Village. Their hard work and dedication have become a real pick-me-up for everyone! As the semester draws to a close, students will soon transition their focus from competency development to HSC exam preparation. This shift ensures they have time to solidify their understanding of key course material and refine exam techniques.
Manufacturing and Engineering
Year 11
Year 11 Manufacturing and Engineering students have spent this term working on their toolboxes and are almost at the halfway mark. Students have been developing their sheet metal skills, MIG welding and general fabrication skills throughout this project. This toolbox project should be completed by the end of the Preliminary course and is a significant demonstration of individual abilities and knowledge.
Year 12
A new project has been developed allowing students to gain skills and confidence with a range of machining processes. A hammer with interchangeable faces including aluminum, brass, steel and nylon will be a project that students can utilise for years to come.
