From the Educators

Zoe Parry

OSHC Educator

Hi my name is Zoe and I am an educator at this beautiful OSHC service. I have been working here for four years and have loved every minute of it! I have been very lucky to build strong relationships with your children and I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them at OSHC. My favourite games to play with the children are basketball shooting games in the gym, Uno and building structures with Lego. My favourite part about working at OSHC is being able to guide students to become kind, honest and empathetic citizens. It has been great watching the children develop independence. I am particularly proud of the reception students for showing their ability to play collaboratively and be organised and ready for OSHC in the morning and afternoon.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have been focussing on the students' role models and there has been rich discussions around who they look up to and why. It has been really interesting to see why their idols are valued. Hearing the students talk about the positive qualities of the people that they look up to is such a great thing to be a part of as students are able name positive characteristics that influential people have.

As the weather is getting drearier, we have been spending more time in our indoor spaces. These include the OSHC room, activity room and gym. The children have been very adaptive during the weather changes and have been able to find and select new games and tasks to play that suit the play area. The gym has been a busy place over the last few weeks and the children have been playing various games and sports that include basketball, cricket, soccer and chasey. I have really enjoyed joining in with the students and seeing them play collaboratively. Making OSHC a fun and inclusive space for the children is very important to us as educators and ensuring that children are safe and happy is our number one priority.

Looking forward to the next couple of weeks, bring on the fun of the vacation care program!

See you all very soon!
