Here we are at the end of week 10 in term 2, students are thriving in their learning routine and are achieving many IEP goals. It has been pleasing to read many reports this week, to hear the progress students have made over the first semester. Reports will be coming home next week.
This is a longer term, with one more week to go. Term 2 ends on Friday 28th June at 2:00pm. We commence Term 3 on Monday 15 July.
The building project is coming along well, with construction on track for a term 1, 2025 completion.
During the upcoming school holiday break, the footpath coming down the driveway slope towards the primary building will be removed. From the first day of term 3, we ask that families/carers who have been taking this route, take an alternate by walking to the middle front school gate, and walk across the centre driveway zebra crossing. Staff will be on duty to remind and support safe transitions into school.
We are seeking parent/carer input into the interest to a Croydon SDS based OSHC program for afterschool hours and school holidays. School Council would like to hear your views and we invite you to participate in our brief survey (5 questions). https://forms.gle/C7L1epcKh4A3gicJA
Thank you!
At our School Council meeting on Monday night I gave an update of the review of our Child Safe Policies. A Child Safe Review Panel consisting of two parents, a teacher, an ES and Judith and myself have met twice this term to discuss the Child Safe Policy, Child Safe Code of Conduct, Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Child Safe Risk Register. Further discussions with our School Improvement Team (leadership team), staff Consultative Committee, and School Nurse, have occurred to look at policy implementation. The Child Safe Review Panel will meet at the start of term 3 to then present the policies to School Council in August.
This week, School Council ratified the Complaints Policy.
I would like to wish everyone a restful and enjoyable mid-year school break. It's important to take the time to unwind and look after ourselves and our families; it's also a great time to catch up with family and friends.
We look forward to seeing everyone back for more learning and fun in term 3!
