John XXIII Rowing Club
Dear Families
Last Saturday's All Schools Regatta 2 brought both challenges and triumphs for the JOhn XXIII Rowing Club. Despite facing some illness and injury, the boys showed remarkable improvement from Regatta 1, recording faster times overall. With more entries and tougher competition, our team rose to the occasion, securing three wins and 13 podium finishes. A special mention goes to our Year 9 boys, who delivered a nail-biting performance, finishing just 0.04 seconds behind Shenton. They improved their time by an impressive 11 seconds from the last regatta, making their races ones to watch as the All Schools regattas continue next term.
Best wishes to our girls rowing squad as they prepare for the Head of the River 2024, hosted by Perth College at the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre. The girls are in a great position to record a College-best regatta and season points score. We encourage everyone to come down and support our girls, as John XXIII College has a crew representing the College in the Head of the River race for the first time since 2003!
The event is going to be livestreamed (weather permitting). The link is as follows:
