Interschool Connections

Undeniably, one of the many benefits of living in a small rural area is the sense of community one can find.  College had the pleasure of hosting Good Shepherd Lutheran College for a cross-grade soccer match last Friday lunchtime.  Our neighbouring school crossed the road to Myrniong for a match against a mixed Year 4, 5 and 6 girls’ and boys’ College team.

It was an entertaining encounter.  College came away with a 3-0 win, but sportsmanship and building community connections were the winners on the day.  All 12 College players contributed to the win and played cohesively as a team.  The highlight for me was off the pitch, with our Early Years students gravitating down to the sidelines and loudly cheering on both teams.  We look forward to continued sporting fixtures with Good Shepherd Lutheran College in 2024 and beyond.

Hockey

Division 5

The College Tigers and Panthers faced off on Saturday, with the Tigers coming away with the win, 2-1. It was an even contest, with a high level of skill on display from both teams.

Division 4

College Wolves played their best match of season 2024 against a solid Dunkeld team. Wolves led most of the match; however, a strong final quarter saw Dunkeld record a 4-2 win. Tommy Brown was his usual industrious self and scored two well-deserved goals.  The best on the ground for the Wolves was Evie Templeton, who never gave up the fight and put in a huge defensive performance.

College Foxes maintained their position at the top of the Division 4 table with a win over Coleraine Gold.
